First Christian Athens is intended to be a place to learn and nourish one’s beliefs.  Our hope is that through participation in the life of FCC, people leave encouraged in their faith.  Our style can be best described as open, non-judgmental, friendly and welcoming, but not overly aggressive.  Our prayer is that new members quickly become family members and that their talents are recognized and appreciated to the benefit of the members and the church.

We welcome: singles, twice divorced, under thirty, filthy rich, poor as dirt, can’t sing, married with pets, unbelievers, skeptics, seekers, doubters, conservatives, liberals, left-out, de-churched, middle-aged, orthodox, heretics, workaholics, screaming babies, older than dinosaurs, obsessive compulsive, tourists, and you!!!

We are a community of human beings living together as neighbors.  Within our family we have warts, scars, pimples, lumps, brokenness, burdens, and disappointments.  But each person is working daily to try and imitate Christ’s example.  We are a people where burdens
are shared, joys are celebrated, failures and brokenness is forgiven
and hospitality is offered to everyone. We believe we are first to love God, and then love our neighbor.
