Worship

Worship has been defined as to know, to feel, and to experience the resurrected Christ in the midst of a community of believers. Worship is our response to God’s initiative.  Worship can entail singing, praying, praising, etc., but it is more than any of them.  Our goal is to worship God in "spirit and in truth."

John 4:24 NRSV

Here at First Christian Church Athens we have an Early Worship Service 8:30am that has a casual and informal feel. Sunday School is held at 9:30am. The Second Service, held at 10:30am is more traditional. All are welcome in our church and at the Table of the Lord.
